French brand Bexley chooses Waro to manage the environmental impact of its collections

Find out how Fabien Steimer, Bexley's Brand and Product Manager, describes the project with Waro and the results after more than a year in use.

"The implementation of the project went very smoothly with the involvement of product teams, suppliers and manufacturers to enable us to measure the environmental impact of BEXLEY products."

Fabien Steimer, Bexley Brand and Product Director

For over 35 years, BEXLEY has been offering long-lasting pieces that transcend fashion trends to become an essential part of men's wardrobes.

Their "BON CHIC BON SENS" philosophy means choosing to pay the price for craftsmanship and quality materials, nothing more, nothing less.

GOOD SENSE also means taking a step away from fast-fashion and managing the environmental impact of our collections. This is one of the reasons why BEXLEY has joined forces with Waro!

‍‍

The challenge

Bexley, aware of the growing importance of future environmental and regulatory issues, faced several major challenges before collaborating with Waro:

1. Measure and monitor the environmental impact of BEXLEY collections using a granular approach

2. Preparing for environmental labelling: In response to the imminent regulations, Bexley wanted to anticipate and improve the environmental impact of its products.

3. Ecodesign of future collections: Learn about eco-design practices to minimize the environmental impact of future collections right from the product development phase.

The Solution

Waro supports Bexley in the collection and precise measurement of the environmental impact of its collections, enabling it to respond to the brand's major challenges. Thanks to this approach, Bexley is able to prepare for future environmental regulations while aligning its actions with a sustainable impact trajectory.

"Waro allows us not only to sharpen our perception of current environmental issues, but also to reinforce our commitment to more responsible fashion." (Fabien Steimer, Bexley Brand and Product Director)

What were Bexley's main challenges before working with Waro?

"Before Waro, a multitude of information was scattered across numerous documents and/or suppliers. Data collection has made it possible to classify/organize and verify the information essential to product tracking."

The project was implemented in several phases:

1. An initial phase to collect the necessary data from suppliers to calculate the environmental impact of BEXLEY products.

2. An analysis of impact results from previous collections.

3. Import and management of supplier certifications in Waro to save Bexley time, keep them up to date and facilitate their follow-ups.

The implementation of the project went very smoothly, with the involvement of the product teams, suppliers and manufacturers, as well as the marketing/e-commerce team to understand the future challenges of communicating results.

Bexley chose Waro for several reasons:

- The platform's ease of use and user-friendliness enabled rapid adoption by Bexley's teams.

- Waro's ability to deliver detailed, actionable analyses.

- Waro's support, with a committed team and personalized follow-up.

"Currently, we use the impact results measured on Waro to gain a global understanding of our carbon footprint and imagine our impact trajectory. The platform allows us to track the impact of our collections by product category with detailed and accurate reports.

These detailed analyses are very useful for consolidating Bexley's brand image and preparing the development of future collections by integrating sustainable practices right from the design phase."

What are the main lessons you can draw from the initial results?

The project set up with Waro has enabled Bexley to confirm that "Common Sense" guides them at all times, and that many of the decisions and actions resulting from it are rewarding and virtuous.

The use of Waro met Bexley's challenges and objectives before the collaboration began. The brand went even further than the basic objective by integrating the management of supplier certifications into the platform.

In the future, Bexley also plans to use Waro for :

- Communicate both internally and externally, and promote their responsible approach.

- Preparing for the arrival of Environmental Signage
