The Challenge

Ebac had to meet the requirements of the AGEC law and prepare for the environmental display regulations for its products. The aim was to provide clear, detailed information on the origin, design, manufacture and sale of mattresses.

Ebac aims to be a pioneer in eco-design in the bedding sector, integrating sustainable practices into the development of its products to minimize their environmental impact.

With a view to anticipating its obligations in terms of environmental labelling and reinforcing its communication as a "French and responsible" company, Ebac wanted to be able to :

- Measure the environmental impact of your products

- Transparently communicating product impact to customers

- Strengthen its commitment to responsible French manufacturing and the purchase of local raw materials.

Waro solutions

Since February 2023, Ebac has been working with Waro to carry out life cycle analyses (LCA) of its products.

This collaboration enables Ebac to :

- Measure the environmental impact of its products to provide clear and transparent information to all its distributors.

- Select the most suitable suppliers to offer products with lower CO2 emissions.

Ebac analyzed the environmental impact of 200 products with Waro, demonstrating its commitment to using recycled and recovered materials, such as fibers recycled from plastic bottles collected from beaches and oceans.

"I discovered Waro during a webinar on environmental labelling. I said to myself that this was a player I absolutely had to work with, because the platform allows me to make the work of collecting data and measuring impact much less time-consuming." (Lamine OUKRID)

Using the Waro platform has enabled Ebac to :

- Gain transparency and credibility with their customers and distributors.

- Make informed decisions when choosing suppliers and materials, thereby reducing the environmental impact of products.

- Optimize their manufacturing process by focusing on their core business, while relying on Waro to make informed choices".

By working on LCAs, we can immediately choose the most suitable suppliers to try and offer the product with the lowest impact. This environmental labeling allows us to look to the future in a number of positive ways, in particular to assert our French manufacturing origin, and also to try to maximize the purchase of materials that come from French territory."

Working with Waro has enabled Ebac to meet regulatory requirements while strengthening their environmental commitment and credibility in the marketplace. Thanks to accurate and transparent information, Ebac continues to position itself as a responsible leader in the bedding industry.

At the Esprit Meuble 2023 trade show, Ebac was able to showcase this commitment made in partnership with Waro. The company displayed a QR code on each product, giving access to a detailed environmental impact sheet. This initiative testifies to the company's commitment to transparency and the environment.

"Today as soon as we can communicate on these LCAs, we do so, highlighting QR codes to present the information clearly and transparently."
